Members in the SPOTLIGHT
Phyllis Henslin received the American Rose Society Bronze Honor Medal at the MEVRS Christmas Banquet on December 5, 2008.
Phyllis is this year's honoree along with her husband, Bill Henslin. However it was discovered that only Phyllis was listed as a member for the requisite three years. As most of you know, where we find Phyllis, we find Bill.
Also at the All Arizona Banquet, the Paul Wright Consulting Rosarian Award was given to Mike Jepsen (shown here with Nancy Medved of the Phoenix and Glendale societies) for many years of service in the areas of education and promotion of AZ Rose Societies.
The annual Rose Bud Award is given to new members who have "jumped in with both feet", taking on special responsibilities. The MEVRS Rose Bud recipient for 2007 is Corinne Geertsen. Corinne, whose one year MEVRS anniversary was in December, volunteered to become our new webmaster.
